You probably didn't know that rubber ducks really enjoy to do ducky things with their friends-- whether they be rubber ducks or not.

Today my human took me to visit a friend and we got to go swimming in a very cold lake for a while. I'm used to nice warm ducky tubwater--- about 90 degrees or so. A 50 degree lake is just not ducky! Not ducky at all! My rubber duck skin was starting to harden and if it was much colder I might have cracked.

Thankfully, we did come home to where it's nice and warm-- just ducky. Rubber Ducks are good at doing that sort of thing.

Have a quack on me,

ErnieDucky

Wo doh,

By golly it's been a while since I've reported on here.

You wouldn't believe the week it has been. It all started when my human bought a pair of eagle figurines for a friend from work.
The friend was Soooooo impressed that he took my human and me on a 'cruise to nowhere'. We went exactly nowhere and landed back on the dock in NYC where we started the trip.

What a nice way to thank someone for a gift! That is a better gift than you'd get if you had some rubber ducks doing the giving. Most rubber ducks are pretty stingy when it comes to gift giving-- just to let you know.

My human partner got a really nice tan from those hours relaxing on the deck of the ship. Sadly, she's now got to make up for all the extra food. All I have to do is relax my quacker--- with all the noise of the ship, I had to quack much louder to get attention. Quacking loud is oh-so-very-non ducky!

Oh well, off to the tub!

Ernieducky

Woh be doh,

I can't believe that it's nearly Monday already!

I guess I've been doing too much quacking around.

I'll let you in on a secret that only us rubber ducks are supposed to know... If you wash under your wings twice a day you float with your head further out of the water. Even some ducks don't know that! It's true. Not to mention that the refreshing clean feeling is nice.

Oh well, off to the corner of the tub to get some sleep while I can. Well, she did, all I got to do was to quack now and then whenever I saw something I thought she had missed.

I'm still a wee bit sore, it got to the point where she had to put me in one of the shopping bags as she had bought so much that there was no more room left to hold me in my normal position. Riding in the bag wasn't bad, it's just that she had bought a bottle of spring water and put that in there too. I got rather banged up from bumping into that bottle. Thankfully my other bag residens were sweaters and mittens-- nice and soft.

I hear the bath water running--- gotta go.

ErnieDucky

QUAAAACK!

What a refreshing day today was.

There's nothing better than starting the day with a nice warm bath. Soaking in the warm tub is oh-so-relaxing. It makes my rubber skin so soft and squishy. I just need to tone down the quacking when I'm floating in the tub-- I think I overdid it today and my human friend looked somewhat annoyed at me.

Speaking of loud quackiing, I just discovered the website for Norma. Norma is the ugliest of the ugly rubber ducklings.

Apparently Norma has a beak that's so large, and a quack that's so loud that it shakes the leaves off the trees when she's quacking. I've never thought a rubber ducky could do anything near that! She even saved a young girls life. Wow! Quite an impressive rubber ducky. A credit to all rubber ducks--- even if she had to get an operation to look like the rest of us.

While on the topic of rubber ducky beauty, I will get a photo of myself up here soon. That way anyone passing through can see my ugly ducky mug and run away in fear. Well, I'm not as bad as Norma was-- but I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or beak of the beholder depending on the beholder.

I better go... starting to quack up.

ErnieDucky

Ho Hum,

Today was a nice quiet day. That was good. It's been sooooo exciting the past two weeks that having a day to just float around and do nothing makes this rubber ducky quack for joy.

I am told that in the morning things will change and we will be out again. Malling is the plan for Wednesday. My human friend needs more shoes.

I wish I could convince her that she should just see if the doctor can grow some webbing on her feet and it would save her lots of time fussing with shoes, but I suppose she would feel self concious on the beach being the only human with webbed feet.... Even if it would help her swimming.

Oh well. No more cubicle. She's so excited about being able to close the door and have some quiet while she works.

She went to Rubber Duck Land and bought some squirting ducks for her desk, and a big blow up ducky called a 'happy duck' to stand on the window ledge and keep her company.

It'll be great for me, when I visit her at work there will be other rubber ducks there for me to pal around with.

She also bought some Cow Gifts so that the rubber ducks wouldn't overrun the office unchecked. Most humans don't realize that duckies are scared of cows.

My fear of cows goes back to a nightmareish experience three years ago when my human took me out in the country for what was supposed to be a refreshing hike in the fields. We came across a 'free range cow' and it was very curious what I smelt like and kept pushing up against me. I thought I was going to be eaten! Every time I see a cow chewing, I think that he might have a rubber ducky in his mouth. No, keep this ducky away from cows!

Time to get ready for tonights bath fun.

ErnieDucky

Wo Be Doh!

I'm Back.
My human took me on a vacation out in the country--- a ski lodge.

We had a fine time... lots of friendly people. Too many cold hands squeezing me-- I almost burst! A ducky can only quack so loudly you know.

I had a real scare--- my human friend fell on the slope and nearly broke her ankle. The ski patrol came and took her off the slope in a stretcher. I was lucky-- I didn't fall out of her pocket when she went down or they would have had to send a search party out for me.

Thankfully, she was OK and didn't even have to go to the hospital. Just some bandages on the ankle and some time to rest and all will be well. I quacked and quacked and tried my best to be good company.

Now that we're home, safe and sound, we're both happy ducks that disaster was avoided. One day a week isn't too bad.

Actually, in a way it is good to have a day that you know people will not make you the center of attention. Too much attention does nasty things to your mind. It's good to sit back and realize that the world doesn't revolve around oneself-- and certainly rubber ducks!

Monday is Martin Luther King day. The day started off with a dip in my humans hot tub and then a refreshing soak in the bath. She gave me a good scrub and now all the dirt and dust that had collected on me is history. It always feels great to be 'quackin clean'.

And Quackin is what I did! We went to a block party last night in town and it was a blast. I didn't realize how many people lived in this neck of the woods. I was the only ducky there, which was sad. I bet next year will be different, as I was the talk of the party-- or at least it seemed that way to me.

We didn't get home until the wee hours of the morning, so I got to sleep later than usual. Thankfully, my human partner slept late also and it looks as if today will be a rather quiet and slow day. More later, as the day progresses.

ErnieDucky

QUAAAAAAACK!

Today I got to quack in the coldest weather I've ever seen. I wish my human friend would migrate south during the winter months like many real ducks do. While I enjoy being cozy inside, it's those cold moments going from house to the car in the winter that get nasty. The rubber on my skin gets brittle and hard when it's this cold. At least I didn't have to eat snow like I did last week when my human dropped me while running to the car after work (had a great time visiting her work that day-- got to quack for some neat strangers).

I'm supposed to get a thorough washing tomorrow-- that will be nice as I'm getting itchy from the dust on my wings. I like the feeling of a shiny clean bill.

Gotta go and quack...

Ernie Ducky

What a great day!

After a fine splash in the pool, my human took me for a ride in the car.

I was perched on the dashboard and got a real thrill out of driving into town.
It was fun to watch the world go by, to watch the people coming out of the
supermarket. It seemed as if everyone was buying toilet paper today.

Before my human went off to bed (she was tired, so she went in early) she
had me and some of my buddies line up in rows. She downloaded the ducky
alignment tool from Rubber Duck Land.

It was good to see us all lined up again. As usual, one of the ducks didn't
want to line up. There is always one ducky on the bunch who thinks that
just because he's made of rubber he doesn't have to line up.

Time for this rubber ducky to get off to bed or I'll have trouble quacking
in the morning.

ErnieDucky

It's been a busy day.

I woke up early and got to take a good warm bath. The water was just right.
My human friend didn't squeeze me as hard as she normally does, which was fine
with me. My quacker is in need of a good rest. Not that I don't like to quack, but
there are limits you know.

The afternoon nap was, as usual, pleasant. I got to visit briefly with a few scuba
ducks and their friend Leutenant Rubber Ducky (from the fourth fleet, I'm told).

I must remind myself to have my webs manicured-- I might be getting athletes
duck....
